Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton offers trails, playgrounds, fishing (all CA fishing laws apply), disc golfing, and weekend paddling during the summer. Located near Stockton's Spanos Park West, this 180-acre park is a popular spot for picnics in a beautiful oak forest setting, hosts several annual events and fishing tournaments, and features several amenities.
Oak Grove Lake is a 10-acre lake stocked with seasonal catfish and trout and features rentable paddleboats and aqua-cycles (weekends April-October only).
The Oak Grove Nature Center offers educational programs and displays documenting the Park, San Joaquin County and San Joaquin Valley native flora and fauna. Bring the family and enjoy learning about our local wildlife and native plants, seeing the rocks, minerals, and fossil specimens, finding interesting information about the people of Miwok and Yokuts who lived in Central Valley California. The Nature Center also provides many Spring and Summer programs including seminars and learning stations.
Oak Grove Regional Park features two nature trails; a 1.5-mile walk through old grove trees and an open 1/4-mile handicapped path. Taking your next party out to regional park Oak Grove! Indoor Boat House plus outdoor picnic shelters are available for sale.
Oak Grove Regional Park also offers sports on an 18-hole disc golf course, children's playgrounds, a youth campground for camping youth groups, horseshoe pits, picnic tables and barbecues.
Operating hours: Oak Grove Regional Park is open daily (except Christmas) from 8:00 a.m. to posted closing hours The Oak Grove Nature Center is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission: parking is $5 Weekdays; $6 Weekends; $10 on certain holiday weekends (Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, July Fourth and Labor Day) Pets: $1 (leash required). The Oak Grove Nature Center is free of charge.
Fishing is a must-go activity here. You can take a nice stroll, and then find a dining table. The parking area is enough. You can bring your kids, enjoy nature and have a great day. From $1 and $6 per car, dog owners may carry their pet in.
Oak Grove is a family friendly park with numerous playgrounds, nature center, astronomy area, reservoirs, swimming, picnic areas and wildlife. It is a really nice place to visit and the car park is inexpensive. It is one of San Joaquin County's finest public parks. It has something that extends to all age groups.
