Roget Park is located at the Dr. Lodi Store, California. It's a quiet park, great for jogging. Equipped with chess boards, backgammon boards, bocce ball court, horseshoe court and built-in gyms. It is a perfect place to enjoy a picnic with family and friends, or a day out.
Gordon Lloyd Roget donated the park land till he died 20 years ago. When the property was donated for the first time about 110 trees had been planted. Sixty have been lost over the past few years because of death, sickness or being the park's wrong animal, but over 60 have been planted to replace them.
Fences have descended at Roget Park to open the 5-acre area to the public.
The park has been planning on Tineda Road, just east of Target and north of Chipotle restaurant for five years after Lodi sold an adjacent lot bordering it to Eden Homes, which is building an affordable senior housing complex there. Park Superintendent Steve Dutra said Roget is a "passive park" with no playgrounds or ballfields in place. Neither dogs nor other pets are permitted.
A broad oak grove and a green lawn surround a courtyard with two courts for bocce ball and two pits for horseshoeing. Tables decorated with chess boards and backgammon boards include a spot to sit down and enjoy a match. A pedestrian path also circles the walkers ' park, and there are fitness facilities at the stations intended for senior citizens. There are also hundreds of plant species grown on the site.
At Roget Park, you and your loved ones can have a nice picnic together! You can stay cool and sit comfortably on a wide range of picnic tables, or just lie on the grass and enjoy some sunlight and fresh air. The park is well-maintained so you don't have to think about health or cleanliness. If you bring your children along, they're sure to have fun at the playground. The location is also dog-friendly, so your furry buddies are really welcome here. It’s a decent environment area. The workout loop has fascinating activities that will test exercisers of all ages.
