A park is a wide area of land with grass and trees, usually enclosed by fences or walls, and specially designed so that people can stroll there for leisure or play in it for children.

Vinewood Park is a park that features a baseball or softball area, a dog park, and soccer field. It's located behind the Vinewood elementary school in a peaceful neighborhood with plenty of shade trees. It's great for a picnic. The park is in a peaceful, well-maintained neighborhood.

This indoor dog park is great.  People living nearby would want their dogs some off-leash training. Dogs are permitted at the back side of the school. There are 2 entrances at either end.  A lot of trees for cover, and they've got water on either end.  Each time people visit here, the dogs were friendly. The dog owners seem to know each other, and they are very nice. Also with the drought, there are a lot of green fields, colors and benches. Softball fields on the north-west side where no dogs are allowed, dog park on the south-east.

Lodi's parks are multi-use-they all share our parks with bikes, walkers, runners and dog walkers. To ensure you've got a good time to minimize your impact: Leash up! It is the rule, and also the best way to safeguard your dog from pedestrians, aggressive dogs, and other unexpected accidents. Hold your dog on a leash no more than six feet from you.

Here are some things you need to remember when you visit the park with your dog:

  • Share the room - you and your dog aren't alone with so many park users-keep your eyes open to cyclists, runners, kids etc. and note that some people aren't comfortable with pets. Please keep your dog leashed when enjoying the park, and close to you.

  • Scoop Up the Poop - Pack some bags and take the poop out. Don't leave something you wouldn't want to find or walk through behind!

  • Know where to Let Loose - Check the map for off-leash locations and be sure to follow the rules off-leash.

  • Dogs approved On. The City of Lodi can specify the locations within a park where dogs are allowed.

  • Leashed dogs can be found on sidewalks, paved paths, highways, marked grass areas and in parking lots.

  • Please read the posted signs and proceed.

  • Every dog must always be on a full six-foot leash (no retractable leashes).

  • Can not leave dogs unattended.

  • Dog owners have to act responsibly–follow rules, carry bags for removal and clean up after your dog.

  • Dogs have to be certified for being in a public space.

Vinewood Dog Park still has a lot of friendly people and dogs running around. The park is very long, so dogs appear to be split into two classes, one on the west and one on the east— which is perfect! When the dogs on one side of the park aren't as friendly, there's still more space to play ball with your puppies. Dogs can have a wonderful time!
