Top Parks in Tracy, California
Tracy is San Joaquin County, California, the second most populous city in the United States. The population at 2010 census was 82,922. Tracy is situated inside a strategic triangle created by Interstate 205 on the north side of the city, Interstate 5 to the east and Interstate 580 to the south-west; this has given rise to Tracy's slogan, now reported on the city's website: "Think Within the Triangle."
Located in the Greater Bay Area, Tracy sits next to both fertile and infertile farm lands (due to a range of hills west of Tracy). Tracy has a Mediterranean climate. Any of this property (in the east and mainly north of Tracy due to the thick Delta river system) has been brought under growing construction pressure as the rapid urban expansion of the San Francisco Bay Area has spill over into the Tracy area as well as other locations such as the new town of Mountain House (because of Tracy's Measure A in 1990) near to the edge of the Bay Area.
In September 2009, the town initiated the Emerald Tracy Initiative in an attempt to reduce its impact on the environment. City spokesman Matt Robinson said Tracy would be the second community after Riverside to achieve the state's aim for healthy cities, if it works.
Tracy Parks is the great spot to visit, with over 15 shaded picnic areas and over 70 outdoor parks accessible for your activities.
One of the best parks in the city is Veterans Park on the town's south side, which has a broad shade canopy and picnic tables that can accommodate up to 80 people. Veterans Park features a nice playground for youth, a mini skateboard area, basketball courts, baseball diamond and plenty of grass to ride on. Veterans Park also has a Veterans Attraction with a large American Flag surrounded by bricks gravitated to commemorate those who served or worked in the U.S. military.
